Mercy Hospice is a beacon of hope for homeless women and children. Over this past year, the love of Christ has been evident in the support received from you-the friends, donors and supporters of Mercy. The success of our First Annual Appeal allowed us to continue to provide life-sustaining services to our residents and to the homeless and near homeless community. For this, we thank you.

This year’s Annual Appeal will provide for the new challenges that the women of Mercy are facing. Due to recent government cuts, many of our residents are now faced with no income, making it harder for them to obtain what they need to successfully transition back into the community. Employment and steady income are necessary for the survival of our residents after leaving Mercy. In response to this need, Mercy is working to ensure that our residents are fully prepared to deal with the new challenges that lie ahead. Mercy will allocate funding from this year’s Appeal to educational programming and our Resident Transition Support (RTS) program. This will ensure that tutors and program facilitators for our Mercy women and children have the updated materials and resources necessary to prepare our families for success. In addition, funding from RTS will enable us to improve our facility by providing more clean, safe and well-furnished rooms, expanding our laundry facility and providing transportation assistance to and from out-patient programs for all residents. We will continue to care for the homeless community by providing nutritious meals, clothing, showers and toiletries.

Throughout the 35-year history of Mercy Hospice, lives have been changed. This has been possible because of you, our supporters who believe in our mission and support our efforts. I urge you to open your hearts and continue your generous support during this year’s Annual Appeal.

With much gratitude,

Yvonne Branch

Program Director
